Immediately following the park’s 80th Anniversary Celebration<\/a>, the invitingly intimate outdoor venue of the vintage stage at Glen Providence Park was once again the absolute perfect setting for an evening of live entertainment –<\/strong> this time the solid groove laid down by the talented and innovative JEAN THERAPY<\/a><\/strong> on Saturday July 25th<\/span>\u00a0at the second in the 2015 Summer Concert series<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n The audience of over 200 was treated to a tight 17 song set that covered 60\u2019s and 70\u2019s hits from Stevie Wonder (Don’t You Worry \u2018Bout a Thing)<\/strong>, Joni Mitchel (Black Crow<\/strong>, Freeman in Paris)<\/strong>, The Doobie Brothers (Listen to the Music)<\/strong>, Bill Withers (Ain’t No Sunshine<\/strong>) and others.<\/p>\n Jean Therapy\u2019s fabulous arrangement of Richard Rodgers\u2019 My Favorite Things<\/strong> from the 60\u2019s musical The Sound of Music<\/em> was a cleverly delightful mash-up of Julie Andrews and Steely Dan, and the conga beat of Santana\u2019s 1969 hit Evil Ways <\/strong>had the audience in full sway and clapping along.<\/p>\n We are grateful to Delaware County Parks & Recreation for completing the resurfacing the 1937 WPA stage for the park\u2019s 80th\u00a0anniversary performance of Jean Therapy!<\/p>\n Many thanks to all who made this concert possible:\u00a0Delaware County Parks & Recreation<\/a><\/strong>, Concert Series Sponsors Media Recreation Board<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Media Rotary Foundation<\/a><\/strong>, Concert Sponsor Diego\u2019s Cantina<\/a><\/strong>, our volunteers, Marcia Tate for her artful decoration of the stage, the 200+ people who attended, our tireless Concert Chair Lisa Johnson, and of course the talented musicians of Jean Therapy!<\/p>\n Jean Lenke – <\/strong>Lead Vocals & Percussion <\/p>\n Click on any photo for a closer look!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\t\t
